Ethylenediamine-tetraacetic acid sodium (EDTA)

Preservative in Rabies and Varicella (chickenpox) vaccines

Exposure to ethylenediamin can occur through inhalation, ingestion, and eye or skin contact, and absoprtion through the skin.

Toxicology:  a corrosive liquid that is severely irritating to the skin and dyes.  Systemic toxicity from exposure to high vapor concentrations causes damage to the kindeys, liver, and lungs.
